I am not telling you not to do it, because the joys of having an animal in your life can be very rewarding. Take your time, read, learn, ask, visit; remember a lot of exotic and also domestic animals have long life spans, and a commitment to their well being is paramount. Every year I receive more and more calls from people who have visited a pet shop and returned home with an animal that they purchased on impulse or have purchased an animal previously and things have gone wrong.

These are just a very small example of the questions I receive & an example of expensive mistakes people have made.
The cost of purchasing, housing, feeding and the continual care of an exotic animal can vary significantly and should be researched thoroughly before bringing your new dream pet into your home.

There are lots and lots of excellent, speciality exotic shops and breeders all over the country for you to consult. They will share their expert knowledge with you readily and enthusiastically. Unfortunatley there are others who will sell you anything, and I mean anything. They will supply you with no information or the incorrect information leading to very expensive vets bills, a new home required within months of your purchase, the wrong food requirements and more often than not death of your new friend within months of bringing it home.
I offer a service where I can visit and discuss with you, your family, your partner etc your requirements and assist in making the correct purchase of livestock, equipment and setting up the correct environment for your new friend to live happily and safely for the rest of its life.
I DO NOT DEAL IN ANIMALS OR EQUIPMENT, I will point you in the right direction, but WILL NOT supply anyone with livestock that is not reared by myself.
In the Northwest I recommend The Vivarium in Hyde. This is a great exotic specialist shop owned and run by Chris & Amy. They will readily share their wisdom with you and do not charge you an arm and a leg in the process. Their shop is clean friendly and they are always willing to supply exotics, as long as you are educated in what you are taking on first. They have lots of experience and always have a good stock of healthy & well cared livestock available at affordable prices. This shop is not connected with me in anyway, it is just a shop I use and am happy to reccommend.
